Integrated Mathematics Education

• By the time you graduate you will be ready to sit for teacher licensure tests and begin your teaching career in a classroom of 7th – 12th grade mathematics students.
• Ashland University students have an outstanding track record of passing the Praxis 2 and Praxis 3 exams with flying colors. Our pass rate on Praxis 2 is 96 percent and 100 percent on the state mandated Praxis 3.

Enhance your career and knowledge by also earning:

• Master of Education — Available during fall and spring evening classes and both day and evening classes throughout the summer at centers in Ashland, Columbus, Elyria, Massillon and Cleveland Center. LINK

• Doctor of Education — a terminal degree in the field of education. LINK

You begin your involvement in the classroom as an observer during your freshman year. Your time in the classroom increases each year there after. In all, you will spend at least 300 clock hours observing and assisting in the classroom prior to your student teaching experience to acclimate you to the environment, build your confidence and capabilities as a teacher.

By the time you undertake your 300-clock hour student teaching experience in a secondary math classroom, you will be ready to take the helm.
