6130 Y3 - Lessons Learned from Experience - This professional development program is based on the book by Dr. Coble, Lessons Learned from Experience. His research encompasses years of interviews with over 400 educational leaders and provides practical advice for all school administrators, public or private. 6130 Z3 - Leading High Performing Teams - This in-service opportunity is also based on the work of Dr. Larry Coble in developing high performing teams. By Coble’s definition, “a team is a group of individuals who work together to produce products or deliver services for which they are mutually accountable.” This has several implications in Ohio schools today when dealing with high stakes testing and the political ramifications of achieving “excellence” in all of our schools. 6130 A4 - Staying on Track and Avoiding Derailment - Why do some administrators succeed and why do some fail? This professional development class will explain the factors of this phenomenon. It is based on years of observation, interviews and on-site evaluations of administrators in the field of school leadership. The book Staying on Track co-authored by Dr. Coble is the source of material for this class and is valuable to the participants. 6130 B4 - Leadership and Change - This professional in-service opportunity is based on the efforts of Dr. Larry Coble in understanding the change process and the culture of a school district. As Dr. Coble puts it, “it is a priority to know the difference between what is going on and what is REALLY going on.” This module is practical and can easily be applied your school district as you work through your own change process. 6130 C4 - Conflict Management - This professional development program is based on the work of Dr. Larry Coble and a host of other experts in the field of conflict management. The program features a series of lessons based on the theory of the workshops of the Thomas Killman Conflict Mode Instrument, and the exercises for the class run off the results from this instrument. The level of conflict management skills for today’s school administrator can determine your longevity of time in a school leadership position. Following the video, students will read Teacher Renewal: Stories of Inspiration to Balance Your Life by Dale Brubaker and Larry Coble. The book is a series of 52 cases. Participants will be required to read, reflect and write on each of the cases for credit.  One semester hour of graduate credit / Cost: $275.  Click here to register for graduate credit.
