Loaner equipment is available for faculty and staff for use throughout the year.  These items are available for classes, presentations, special events, conferences and other related purposes.  Students may also borrow equipment, but only with written permission granted from a faculty or staff member.  This permission can be given in paper form or by submitting a service request. An expedient way to grant permission to an entire class (for instance Field Study for Education Majors) is to submit a ticket and attach a class roster to the ticket. Loaner equipment can only be borrowed for up to two weeks.  Exceptions to this time limit are considered on a case-by-case basis and you should consult with the Tech Support Center for any equipment requests for longer than a two week period. Equipment requests must be made at least two (2) business days in advance. Equipment requests are filled in order of delivery date not request date. Due to the limited amount of equipment available, it is possible not every request can be filled.

Equipment can be picked up at the Tech Support Center on the first floor of Patterson Technology Center during open hours, Monday through Saturday.  The Tech Support Center also delivers equipment to buildings and offices on the main campuses of Ashland University and Ashland Theological Seminary.  Information Technology does not deliver equipment off-campus or outside the Tech Support Center operating hours.

A signature on the Delivery/Pickup ticket is required when the equipment is released. This signature means that you are the receiver of the equipment and that you are responsible for its use while it is checked out from the Tech Support Center. The signer may be held responsible for any loss or damage that occurs while the equipment is in his or her care. In addition to the student, faculty and staff members who grant a student permission to borrow equipment may also be held responsible.

[1] - Information Technology does not provide cassette tapes, floppy disks, CDs, DVDs, USB drives, VHS tapes, VHS-C tapes or Mini DV tapes. These items can be purchased from the Ashland University Bookstore.

[2] - One of the DVD players can play international DVDs.

[3] - The flat panel monitors have inputs for VGA and DVI video connections.

[4] - Our Windows laptops have the following software on them.

Note: Connection cables, power cables, power strips, power extension cords, connection adapters, etc. will be provided with loaner equipment as needed and requested.
