Public Forum on Frack Drilling

Ashland University and Summit Benefit Solutions Inc. will host a public forum on Frack Drilling and Shale Development to educate the public about fracking and its impact at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, in Myers Convocation Center on the Ashland University campus.

During the forum, experts with extensive knowledge will offer informative neutral views on the method of extracting gas from shale rock known as fracking. A question-and-answer session will follow at the end of the program. The forum is free and open to the public.

Those scheduled to participate on the panel include State Representative David Hall, Rebecca Heimlich with Associated Petroleum Institute, and a representative of Unity Resources, an alternative investment firm. Others invited to attend include attorneys focusing on environmental law, members from Ohio Oil and Gas Association, the Ohio Farm Bureau and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The program is co-sponsored by Summit Benefit Solutions Inc. in Mansfield as well as the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Heffern Institute for Contemporary Financial Studies, both located in the Dauch College of Business and Economics at Ashland University.

Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to Beth Onie at Ashland University at 419-289-5213 or bonie@ashland.edu.
